Welcome to Calvary Assembly of God’s Live Deep School of Discipleship, an in-depth, intensive, interactive journey of discipleship for those desiring to go deeper in their life with God.

The Details

A year long intensive discipleship “school” designed to introduce people to the biblical principle of discipleship and spiritual formation and to set them on a lifelong path of continued growth

  • Relational - 10 – 15 participants per group that will provide an environment for connection and shared learning
  • Experiential – groups will participate in exercises and projects that help to apply what they learn
  • Academic – required reading for each course will stretch students intellectually
  • Participatory – through blogs, forums, and in-person meetings, groups will regularly share with each what they are learning and will help to create a shared learning environment
  • Intensive – students must commit to the whole year, and to the various requirements (reading, activities, etc.)
  • Biblical - each class will include supplemental reading, however the Bible is the primary source for each area of study

Purpose

  • To provide a systematic learning experience that will equip people to live a life-long journey of discipleship.
  • To provide a biblical foundation of spiritual formation and discipleship as well as the tools for ongoing growth.
  • To build disciples who are servant leaders with a clear vision of God’s mission.

Format

  • Learning will take place in a variety of ways in order to appeal to different learning styles
  • Each group will have a mentor that will be with them throughout the year. This person will be available to answer questions, review assignments, offer feedback, and participate/lead interactive experiences.
  • Online – teaching material will be available online so students can access when convenient; discussion forums will give a place for interaction among students.
  • In person – regularly (i.e. monthly) scheduled times of fellowship, sharing, and learning
  • Putting into practice – students will practice what they are learning through assigned exercises. They will also be trained in leadership and will be guided into a specific ministry. Some students will remain “in” the program as mentors to future groups – leading them through the process
