How Amazing is GRACE!

Posted in Uncategorized on 02/22/2010 by ABN3R

I had to understand that I was saved by GOD’s GRACE. Through Grace I receive eternal life and a promise of heaven even though I’m not worthy of it. We need His Grace and Mercy to receive this heavenly gift. Paul said in Colossians 1:13-14; “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption the forgiveness of sins.” “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8.
It’s wonderful and beautiful how GOD chooses us and how is GRACE shape us. Grace shapes us by; understanding the word of GOD, we are justified by Grace, Grace make us a better person, and helps us in time of need. The Lord told Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12: 9 “my Grace is all you need”.
This Amazing GRACE requires me to do Godly things and live a true Christian life. My biggest fears are to received His Grace in vain and/or not grow in it.

OAKing-it

The definition of Discipline;
Been consistent or having a regimen, been obedient, to bring order, or been punished.
The definition of Spiritual Discipline;
To FOLLOW Jesus and DO exactly what Jesus did.
In Psalms 1:1-3, shows a disciplined person been able to withstand many worldly temptations. Shows a disciplined person been able to intake GOD’s word and applying it and produce fruits. It refers us to a tree; this made me think of the movie “tombstone” when Doc Holiday said “Wyatt! You are an OAK”. We all can be OAKing-it for GOD. If our faith and spiritual disciple is strong as an OAK we will be able to withstand any temptations and be fruitful. You will be blessed if you are spiritually disciplined, people will seek your guidance and help. Like any kind of discipline, you have to starts small and be consistent. That’s in the perfect world, but in my Abner’s world its different story. Like any kind of disciple, it’s hard to maintain a discipline schedule. The more you stick with the discipline schedule, the easier it will become. My day starts a prayer and then I “TRY” to read my devotions and e-devotions every morning at work. I’m “TRY” to apply what I have learned from discipleship dare, marriage classes, praying classes, sermons and watching other Christian. I pray that I can be truly SPIRITUALLY DISCIPLINED.

TRAINING = LEARNING IT
TRYING = ATTEMTING TO DOING IT
TRAINING + TRYING = PRO

PRO = a professional, a skilled person and to be in favor of (PRO-Christian)

Training; acquiring a skill, the process of improving, to prepare for
Trying; an attempt been made, to test something

I truly believe we need both to improve has a disciple of Christ. I may be the odd ball on this topic. As we TRAIN in the word of GOD, we should be TRYING to apply it. The more we TRAIN; by reading, by fasting, by praying and by being mentored the more we should TRY; by going witnessing, applying GOD’s love to others, by keeping is laws and commands, by living like a disciple and by knowing GOD’s word. The way I see TRY is like you are attempting and keep attempting until you accomplish it and completing it. I don’t see TRY as “lets’ try it and see” attitude. Having a great preparation with a deep determination to try real hard anyone will be able accomplish anything. Let‘s say you are a soccer player you TRIED to score 7 times and on the 8th TRY you made a goal. I sure that everyone has fallen flat on their faces before getting it right even if they TRAINED for that task. I went witnessing with Al I didn’t TRAINED for it, but I TRIED my best to spread GOD’s love and word. I read article on how to approach people and not offend them. I read on what scriptures, stories and on different ways to witness. I will continue to TRAIN more about witnessing to people in the streets. With that TRAINING I will keep TRYNG to spread GOD’s word where ever I go.

COMING SOON!!!

Has a disciple, we need to follow His command: “The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:31.

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27.

Just like a “LOVE SICKNESS” that can cause; hypomania, depression, stress, having an upset stomach, change in appetite, insomnia, dizziness, and confusion. We can have a “SPIRITUAL LOVE SICKNESS” by not been loyal to friends, family, our church community, and even Jesus and GOD. We will be “SICK” by not been be able to forgive each other or go the extra mile or sacrifice for other because we don’t have GOD’s love in our hearts. If we do not love our neighbors, are we really following Jesus’ teachings? If we are not surrendering our life to Christ, are we really letting God dwell in us? If we have LOVE in our life we will have pure thoughts, words, and actions. We will have this great desire to spend more time with GOD. We will put our self in the back burner for others’ needs. We will be sharing, helping and guiding our neighbors into Christ.

Like a true disciple of Christ, we need to make LOVE the center of our lives at all times……………………………

Ginkgo Biloba; (((( My Fortress ))))

Posted in Uncategorized on 12/03/2009 by ABN3R

(Ginkgo biloba is a pill that helps your memory). I’m very forgetful, just ask Diana, I can’t remember dreams, birthdates, anniversary, and I always forget mother’s day. Its been a problem growing up with school. This is going to be a real challenge for me. Memorizing scriptures help you live it and also that’s your sword when we don’t have a bible. I may have to add the scripture at the end of my prayers to help keep it in my head.

It was tarry time at Calvary, I was sitting down praying to God’s spirit to come in me and to deliver me from this fort I have. I know that the spirit of God was in the room that night, but I didn’t feel it. I know the Holy Ghost is in me because of my salvation. My fortress is hindering the penetration of the Holt Ghost, I may have to “march”. Been filled with the Holy Ghost gives freedom to God to conquer every part of our lives, guiding and controlling us. This will allow us to be fruitful toward God.

Reaping fruits; Lending a Hand

There 9 fruits that identify ones character. I know I need to work double-overtime for my fruits. I have problems with PATINCE, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL AND PEACE (pretty much all of them). I have been praying to be guide by the holy ghost on what to do so I can receive my fruits. The “works of the flesh” has knocked me down and keep me down for a while. I’m trying to raise above and let the holy ghost be in me, teach me and guide me as I establish my walk with Jesus. I’m going to follow the exercise instructions on page 49.

Jesus said love your neighbor as your self and He also said Freely you have received, freely give. Just like the story of the good Samaritan, we need to help or reach out to everyone we can. I enjoy giving my time to help others in need. Granted, my time is limited because I have a family and a full time job. I think by giving, it don’t matter if its money, time, food or a shelter, it’s a testimony that we are obedient to God. 2 Cor. 9:7-Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

…..Meditating & Zipping it!

Posted in Uncategorized on 11/20/2009 by ABN3R

Like my wife, Diana, I too have the same exercises. I stared reading the devotional since February of this year, not going to lie off and on. I truly feel that is was written just for me. I may be thinking about something or going through something and then, BOOM! “Wow, God is talking to me”. I also ready another daily bread but this one as a short story. I read it early in the morning, at work, before I start to work. The devotionals are like a energy drink that boost me up all day. I sometime feel bad because I read these two things early in the morning and then I don’t remember what I read. I need to meditate more on the word of God. Try to thinks of ways how to apply it on my every day life.

For my second exercise I’m going to just ZIP IT! Mama always said; “ If you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say nothing at all”. “He who guards his mouth and his tongue, Guards his soul from troubles“- Proverbs 21:23. I’m a person who see the bad in people, and take criticism personal. Lately I have been applying(zip it) this at home and at work. I cant hold it all the time but its getting better thanks to Diana. She has been telling me to think more positive, that all those bad words comes from the heart. So now, when I get provoked I just bike my tongue and pray to God to give me the strength to over come it.

Well, I’m like a low profile tires (wheels) dragging the bottom, hitting every bump on the road (been tempted). My “spokes” are very short. I feel I have a lot to learn and a whole lot to apply. Spokes that I need to work on: Holiness (I still have bad habits), Contemplative (I need to have more alone time with the Lord), Incarnation ( all I know is I need it ), Charismatic (need to let the Holy Ghost work on me, stop been prideful ), and Evangelical (sharing more the word of GOD with others). I know with prayer and putting in motion what I have learned those spoke will get longer and longer. Praise GOD!!!!!!!!!, Diana and I have been blessed with a great foundation (Calvary). The beautiful thing is that GOD tell us to come has you are, then he will mold us, this is HIM molding me.

……………..REPORTING IN. AS ORDERED

I joined this course to get a deeper understanding of being a true and genuine Christian. Right now I feel lost; I don’t know why I’m here for or what direction I should go. Accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior is the best thing I have done (2nd- marrying Diana) now I need to get deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper. GOD will use me as HE wishes, HE has my deed.
